2. Information We Handle

Gift Memory is designed to keep most of your information on your device. Depending on how you use the app, Gift Memory may handle the following types of information:People and relationship information
Names, birthdays, important dates, profile photos, and other details you choose to save about people.Memories and gift information
Memories you enter, gift ideas, categories, prices, product links, notes, gifts you have given, and gift reactions.AI-related information
When you use AI features, Gift Memory may process the memory text you enter, the selected person’s name or reference, relevant occasion information, relevant saved memories, and relevant gift history in order to organise memories and generate personalised gift recommendations.Voice input
If you choose to use voice capture, the app uses microphone and speech-recognition services to turn what you say into text. Gift Memory does not intentionally store the original audio recording as part of your saved memory.Notification information
Gift Memory may use birthdays, important dates, reminder settings, and notification preferences to schedule notifications on your device.We only ask for information that is relevant to the features you choose to use.

3. How Your Information Is Stored and Processed

On-device storage
Gift Memory stores your saved people, birthdays, important dates, memories, gift information, notes, profile photos, and app preferences locally on your device.Gift Memory does not currently require you to create an account, and your saved Gift Memory database is not currently synchronised to a Gift Memory cloud account.AI processing
When you choose to use an AI-powered feature, certain information needed to perform that feature is sent securely from the app to Gift Memory’s backend infrastructure hosted by Supabase.This may include memory text, the selected person’s name or reference, occasion information, relevant saved memories, and relevant gift history.Gift Memory’s backend then uses OpenAI’s API to process that information for purposes such as organising a memory or generating personalised gift recommendations.Only information relevant to the AI feature being used is intended to be sent. Gift Memory does not intentionally send unrelated people, unrelated memories, or profile photos to OpenAI when generating text-based memory analysis or gift recommendations.No sale of personal information
The Golden Vault Limited does not sell your personal information or the information you enter about other people in Gift Memory.

4. How We Use Information

Providing app features
We use the information you enter to provide Gift Memory’s core features, including saving people, memories, birthdays, important dates, gift information, reminders, and gift history.AI-assisted memory organisation
When you choose to use AI features, relevant information may be processed to help organise memories, identify useful details, and structure information you have chosen to save.Gift recommendations
Relevant saved memories, occasion information, and gift history may be processed to generate personalised gift recommendations and explain why a recommendation may be suitable.Voice capture
If you use voice capture, microphone and speech-recognition functionality is used to convert what you say into text so that it can be reviewed, edited, and saved as a memory.Notifications and reminders

5. Third-Party Services and Sharing

Supabase
Gift Memory uses Supabase to provide backend infrastructure for certain AI-powered features. When an AI feature is used, relevant information may be sent through Supabase so the request can be securely processed.OpenAI
Gift Memory uses OpenAI’s API to help organise memories and generate personalised gift recommendations. Only information relevant to the AI feature being used is intended to be sent to OpenAI.Apple services
If you choose to use voice capture, Gift Memory uses Apple’s microphone and speech-recognition frameworks to convert speech into text. Depending on your device and Apple’s services, speech-recognition processing may involve Apple systems.Limited sharing
We do not intentionally share your information with third parties except where it is necessary to provide a feature you have chosen to use, maintain the app, meet legal obligations, or protect the security of Gift Memory and its users.No sale of information

6. Overseas Processing and Data Protection

Overseas processing
Some third-party services used by Gift Memory, including Supabase and OpenAI, may process information in countries outside New Zealand.When you choose to use an AI-powered feature, relevant information may therefore be processed outside New Zealand as part of providing that feature.Privacy protections
The Golden Vault Limited takes reasonable steps to use service providers that maintain appropriate privacy and security protections and to handle overseas processing consistently with applicable New Zealand privacy requirements.Secure transmission
Information sent from Gift Memory to its backend services is transmitted using secure HTTPS connections.Your choice
AI processing only occurs when you choose to use an AI-powered feature. Information stored locally on your device is not intended to be sent to Gift Memory’s AI providers unless it is relevant to a feature you have chosen to use.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

On-device data
Information stored locally in Gift Memory remains on your device until you edit or delete it, delete the app, or use Gift Memory’s in-app data deletion controls.AI request data
Information sent for AI processing is transmitted only when you use an AI-powered feature. Gift Memory does not intentionally keep a separate long-term copy of your memory text on its own backend after the request has been processed, unless this is required for security, legal, or technical reasons.Third-party retention
Third-party service providers, including Supabase and OpenAI, may retain limited information for security, abuse prevention, operational, or legal purposes in accordance with their own policies and service terms.Deleting your data
You can delete individual memories, people, dates, gift history, and other saved information from within the app where those controls are available.Gift Memory also provides a Delete All App Data option in Settings. Using this option is intended to remove locally stored Gift Memory data and associated app preferences from your device.Deleting the app
Deleting Gift Memory from your device will remove locally stored app data that is contained within the app’s local storage, subject to normal iOS behaviour and any device backups you may have enabled separately.

8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Access and correction
Under New Zealand privacy law, you may have the right to request access to personal information that The Golden Vault Limited holds about you and to ask for incorrect information to be corrected.Because most Gift Memory information is stored locally on your device, you can usually view, edit, or delete that information directly within the app.Control over your information
You choose what information you add to Gift Memory. You can edit or delete saved people, memories, important dates, gift information, and other content using the controls available within the app.AI features
You are not required to use Gift Memory’s AI-powered features. If you do not want information sent for AI processing, you can choose not to use those features.Notifications

Gift Memory, including its software, design, branding, logos, graphics, interfaces, and other original content provided by The Golden Vault Limited, is owned by or licensed to The Golden Vault Limited and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.Your content

While we aim to provide a reliable service, Gift Memory may contain errors, interruptions, incomplete information, or inaccurate AI-generated outputs.We do not guarantee that all content, recommendations, reminders, or app functionality will always be accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your needs.Limitation of liability

Stopping use of the app

The Golden Vault Limited may suspend, restrict, or discontinue access to Gift Memory or certain features where reasonably necessary, including for security, misuse, legal compliance, maintenance, or changes to the service.Effect of ending use
